General Description:

ISI was approached by the client and told that they required an addition to their existing plant with automation systems that would start in the main building and lead into the addition.  The addition would need to be designed to enclose existing systems plus the new equipment and the new equipment would need to be installed during the construction of the new addition.  All of this needed to be constructed within a very tight footprint due to the property set backs and operational flow requirements.  At the same time, the existing plant needed to stay fully operational so the design needed to have little to no impact on the day to day operations.     

ISI developed a detail which would reinforce the existing building mainframes and allow for the new rafters to connect to the existing columns.  We than needed to develop a design that would integrate with the existing mechanical and automation systems while working with the German manufacturer of the new automation system to insure there wouldn't be any interference.        

Design Highlights:

• Lean-to, integrated frames attached to the existing pre-eng main frame columns with custom ISI detail.  The secondary framing was designed as simple span to meet the tight footprint requirements. 
  
• Screw Down, insulated steel roof and wall panel assemblies.
• The steel framing was designed for the integration of the existing automation and mechanical systems as well as the new automation system all while allowing the client to stay operational..
