General Description:

Mario was contacted on this project only after the client had received design proposals from two other firms.  Mario's primary objective was to meet all of the clients needs but reduce the cost in comparison to the previous firms proposals.  By optimizing the frame design and implementing an Integrated Structure which eliminated the need for an independent conventional steel structure for the Amenities Area,  Mario was able to meet the objective and ultimately provide the client a design that met his needs. 


Design Highlights:

• The Pitch portion is a 200' clear-span, gable frame design with a standing seam roof assembly. 
• The Amenities section of the building was designed as a two storey, lean-to frame design with a flat, built-up roof assembly which supported all the roof top mechanical units.
• The wall assembly was a combination of insulated panel, architectural block and curtain wall glazing.  
• The Pitch portion which was 360' long was designed to allow for a full FIFA regulated field playing surface or to be divided into 5 fields by dropping full height curtains which are supported by the clear span rafters. 
•  The Amenities area ground floor includes the Main Entrance, Meeting Rooms, Change Rooms and Mech/Elec. Room.  The second floor includes a Restaurant with viewing balcony, Meeting Rooms and a Fitness Centre.
