General Description:

ISI was asked to design a framing systems that could enclose an existing Kiln Assembly.  The purpose of the enclosure was to regulate the Kiln temperature which increase the production and decrease cure times.  ISI's solution was to custom design a cold formed framed structure that was combined with insulated panel which met the design requirements but allowed the customer to stay fully operational during construction.  

Design Highlights:

• The Enclosure was completely framed using cold formed channels which created the columns, wall framing and roof framing.
  
• All the framing was custom designed by ISI including slip connections to the Main Building rafters and purlins to insure that the Main Building roof could deflect without affecting the structural integrity of the Kiln Enclosure.  
  
• The walls and roof were enclosed with insulated panel which were ideal to regulate the interior temperature and withstand and stand-up to the high moisture levels.
• All of the framing needed to be designed so as to not affect the operation of the Kiln as well as not interfere with the existing surrounding automation systems.
